Does having too much sex prevent cancer?

What are the symptoms of prostate cancer?

The prostate is an organ of the secretory gland in men and contributes to its semen content. Prostate cancer is the most common organ cancer in men in Western countries; in some countries, 1 out of every 6 men is diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime. Currently, 4 million people in the world live with this diagnosis.

The cause of prostate cancer is not clear. Race, heredity, experienced, geographic region, and the relationship between lifestyle and prostate cancer incidence has long been recognized. Prostate cancer is a cancer of the prostate gland. Some studies have indicated that frequent sex increases the odds of prostate cancer, while some studies have indicated that it decreases the opposite. However, in light of new scientific biological data, the view that frequent sexual activity may be protective against prostate cancer has gained weight.

Frequent ejaculation lowers prostate cancer risk by 22 %

A group of researchers from Harvard University published the results of their study on nearly 32 thousand men in 2016. According to this study, men who engage in sexual activity more frequently during the younger (20-29) and middle (40-49) years of age are less likely to develop prostate cancer later in life.In this age group that describes ejaculation 21 times per month or more, the probability of developing prostate cancer was 19-22% lower than in the group that describes ejaculation 4-7 times per month.

Current genetic and molecular study supports this relationship biologically as well

In their paper published in November 2018, the same researchers presented data that also supported these statistical findings at the genetic and molecular level to the world of science. They examined the surgically removed prostate tissue of 157 patients whose ages ranged from 45 to 73 and who had surgical treatment for prostate cancer. They analyzed 20,254 genes in both cancerous tissue in the prostate and healthy prostate tissue that has not yet turned into cancer. They revealed for the first time that the genetic and molecular structure in healthy prostate tissue adjacent to cancer varies in parallel with the frequency of ejaculation. Men in their 20s and 40s who described more infrequent ejaculation were found to have impairments in 409 genes in their tissues. In light of this new biological information, the potential for protective effect of frequency of sexual activity became even stronger.

It is not yet known whether the relationship between the frequency of ejaculation and prostate cancer is a cause-and-effect relationship, or a relationship of togetherness. For example, the frequency of ejaculation may be related to a person’s hormonal level, and different levels of the male hormone (testosterone) may also have a role in the development of prostate cancer; this is an association relationship. On the other hand, in this regard, one important cause-and-effect hypotheses about relationships by way of ejaculation of the prostate is one of possible carcinogenic substances and often it is cleaned more frequently, and therefore the idea that development of cancer is reduced, this new study is strengthened by the biological data. The most common genes found to be altered were the genes that enable the cell cycle and cell secretion to be cleared. Of frequent ejaculation prostate by way of the carcinogens and toxins this also and in this way decrease the probability of cancer support the hypothesis that more frequent cleaning.
